DIY: Cufflinks From Buttons

If you're stuck on what to buy Dad this Father's Day, how about making something instead? Show your love and appreciation for your favorite guy by making a handmade gift that will make him look even cooler than he does now... cufflinks! Sure, you can buy a fancy gift too, but I've always felt that handmade gifts are the most thoughtful.

Dig through your house for some interesting looking buttons and follow the instructions below to make these super easy DIY cufflinks that will only take a few minutes to complete. This project is great for kids too and you'll end up with a one-of-a-kind gift for Dad.

Materials:
• 4 Decorative Shank Buttons (found at your local craft/fabric store or Etsy. Make sure the holes on the buttons are large enough so that a hair tie can slide through)
• 2 Thin Elastic Hair Ties
• Scissors

Steps:
• Cut open the hair ties.
• Run 2 buttons through each hair tie.
• Knot the hair tie. The knot should only be approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch away from the buttons.
• Cut off the extra hanging pieces of the hair tie.
